| From RobbyGordon.com Fan Stories This weekend started like it does every weekend...my 12 year old son and I laying our clothes out the night before the race (our "Gordon Gear " as he likes to call it) But this time was different...this time my son looked me in the eye and said " This is the week-end Dad. We're gonna win." I smiled. "Yeah?" I said. He nodded hid head up and down... "Yeah"
He says this every weekend, but this was something special. We were with you every lap of the way Robby. Our hearts soared and soared again as the race grew more and more intense. And in the middle of all the cheering my mind drifted off with out realizing. I looked over at my boy, my son, his face full of excitment at the possibility of a victory for you, for us. I thought about the lessons learned from being a "Robby Gordon" fan. Life lessons can be learned from a man that follows his dreams, puts all his heart and soul into this dream, and refuses to lose. Its not just "nascar" or just " a race" Its building a bond with my son, and watching him watching you struggle at times, but refuse to give in. We fell broken hearted at the end of the Atlanta race, only for a short time though because we know, my son and I, that next weekend will start all over again. We will lay out the "Gordon Gear" the night before the race and tooss and turn all night long because we know that tomorrow could be the day when it all pays off. Thank You Robby for all you do for the sport of nascar, but mostly thank you for helping a father teach his son the important things in life AJ DuBRAY
