The longtime racer, who has won events in NASCAR and Indy cars and come within two laps and an empty gas tank of winning the Indianapolis 500, still can't get his roots in off-road racing out of his system.
That's going to make this week a truly grueling one for the 37-year-old Gordon.
Just eight hours after finishing 16th last Sunday night in the 600-mile Nextel Cup race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Gordon began his 11,200-mile odyssey, flying to Ensenada, Mexico, to spend three days practicing for the Baja 500 off-road race, in which he was the defending champion in the Trophy Truck division.

Poised to accept his next assignment in his young off road racing career, Andy McMillin is set to charge the #83 Red Bull Trophy Truck into the Nevada desert this weekend.
Most recently, Andy met with the Robby Gordon Motorsports team to test the #83 Red Bull Trophy Truck in Plaster City, California. McMillin teamed with Gordon’s long-time co-driver, Greg Till, for the two-hour session where the duo logged about 30 miles testing the 2005 Baja 500 winning Chevy truck. Gordon was in North Africa racing his Hummer H3 in the 2006 edition of the Dakar Rally. [ Visit Website ]
