Robby Gordon to Drive the No. 22 Busch Series Car in California

Robby Gordon to Drive the No. 22 Busch Series Car in California

CharlotteNC (August 28, 2007) – Robby Gordon will pilot the No. 22 Fitz Motorsports Busch Series entry this weekend in the Camping World 300 at the California Speedway.

Gordon, a Ford driver, received permission from his manufacturer on Monday to participate in Saturday’s race. Permission was granted prior to Gordon accepting the offer from Fitz Motorsports. Special consideration was given to Gordon by Ford in order to help his No. 7 team further prepare for Sunday evening’s Sharp Aquos 500.

“I would like to thank Ford for allowing me to participate in the Busch race this weekend,” said Gordon. “Hopefully, I can learn more about track tendencies, tire data, and race strategy, which I can carry over to my Cup car on Sunday. I appreciate this opportunity and am happy to be able to help Fitz Motorsports out.”

Gordon has two previous Busch Series starts at the California Speedway, last year driving the JR Motorsports No. 88, finishing 9th and prior to that in Gordon's own No. 55 in 2004, finishing 12th.
