Robby Gordon Pocono 500 Preview

Before Robby Gordon heads to Pocono Raceway, he will make a pit stop at Eldora Speedway on Wednesday night for Tony Stewart’s fourth annual Prelude to the Dream, an all-star dirt race benefiting the Victory Junction Gang Camp's new Kansas City wing, the Tony Stewart Foundation, and other charities. Gordon will be driving a 2,300 lb dirt late model stock car prepped by Scott Bloomquist and sponsored by Jim Beam. Sunday’s Pocono 500 will mark Gordon’s fourth race in just over a week and his 13th start at the unique, three-turn triangular track.

For the first time this season, Robby Gordon Motorsports will be racing a “back in black” unsponsored race car. For sponsorship opportunities available for the top-35 team, contact the Business Development department at 704-949-1255 or bizdev@teamgordon.com.

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Friday, June 6th at 3:40 p.m. (ET) on SPEED TV, MRN, and Sirius. The 200 laps of racing action begins on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on TNT, MRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

Eldora – “I am really excited about this race,” Gordon stated. “We had a successful test session in Tennessee a few weeks ago, and I can’t wait to get back in the car at Eldora. Not only is this a fun event for our team, but it is supporting some great causes. I really appreciate Jim Beam and Scott Bloomquist for helping us to make this event happen.”

Dover – “Our team has really been showing improvement over the past few weeks, and I think we will continue the trend throughout the rest of the season. Pocono is a challenging track, but it is also fun once you can figure out what works best in the turns. Even though we didn’t get a chance to test due to Baja 500 commitments, I think we will be okay,” Gordon commented.

Appearance Schedule – Gordon will make an appearance on Trackside Live Friday night at 8 p.m. to talk about his recent busy schedule. On Sunday, he will sign autographs at his souvenir trailer at 10:50 a.m.
